Deal, Walmer and Dover Castles, England

We took a train to deal from Dover. It only took about fifteen minutes for the ride.  After arriving in Deal, we stopped at a bakery for my husband to get a delicious donut. Everything looked lovely, but I was not hungry. I believe the shop was called Albert’s.  It was on the main pedestrian street.  There were quite a few people out and about on a Friday … Continue reading Deal, Walmer and Dover Castles, England

Monte Saint-Michel, Normandy, France

Today we opted to take an excursion through the ship.  We didn’t know when we would be close enough to Mont Saint-Michel to visit it.  However, when we got on the bus, they told us the ride was closer to three hours than two.  I did not enjoy the long ride. There is always some loud talkers that stop everyone from resting.  We arrived at Monte Saint-Michel around … Continue reading Monte Saint-Michel, Normandy, France

St. Peter Port, Guernsey

If you are anything like me, you had no idea where Guernsey was located or to what country it belonged.  Honestly, I didn’t even know it was an island until I searched it.  Guernsey is part of the Channel Islands.  It is associated with England, but it has different money, different postage.  The island of Jersey, which is nearby, also has its own money and postage.  They are interesting places … Continue reading St. Peter Port, Guernsey

Acoma Pueblo

Several years ago, my husband was driving through the desert and saw a sign for Acoma Pueblo.  It was not open when he came upon it, but he vowed that he would return to visit it one day.  We headed there after leaving Ruidoso on the way to Albuquerque.  Again, it was a lengthy drive, but it was very much worth the time.  As you get closer to … Continue reading Acoma Pueblo

Carlsbad Caverns

The next morning we drove to Carlsbad Caverns. Our entrance time was 1:15pm and it took three hours to drive there.  (See why we wanted to go on the way from the airport?) We drove through Roswell on the way.  There were so many alien decorations. The wooden ones in front of the gas station were my favorite, but the Dunkin sign was amazing.  We stopped to get … Continue reading Carlsbad Caverns

Disney Cruise

I do love Disney.  I’m not a Disney fanatic, like some, but I feel that Disney is magical. When my husband had the opportunity to take a Disney cruise as a travel agent, with a bit of a discount, he knew I would want to check it out.  I want to make clear here that we have no children.  My husband is not a huge fan of kids … Continue reading Disney Cruise
